IPLEX SX II-R Systems
Introducing a versatile videoscope system with interchangeable insertion tubes, including a 6.2mm scope with internal working channel - ideal for gas turbine inspection and FOD retrieval.  Long working length options for Nuclear and Pipeline inspections.
Purpose-built to meet the specific requirements of gas turbine inspection, the new IPLEX SX II-R from Olympus provides improved access to intricate engine interiors and enhanced hooking operation for exceptional ease of use, together with all the advanced features of standard IPLEX SA systems, such as superior optical performance and high-precision Super Stereo Measurement.
World’s slimmest scope with integral channel
With a diameter of only 6.2mm, this is the world’s slimmest videoscope to incorporate a working channel. The channel port can be mounted on the remote control, further enhancing operability, while the hook assembly features a highly responsive Olympus original design that optimizes operation for inspection of the second nozzle guide vane of the F100 engine.

New IPLEX SX II 6.0mm diameter insertion tubes
For inspections of pipework and within the Nuclear and Pharamaceutical industry, three new 6.0mm diameter IPLEX SX II videoscopes have been introduced.  Available with either the IPLEX-standard Tungsten braided insertion tube or with a smooth outer coating, two 9.6m (31’ 5") length insertion tubes are now available.  A 19.0m (62’ 4") length is also introduced and is ideally suited to long, small diameter pipework inspections.

All three scopes are compatible with the full range of IPLEX II-R optical tip adaptors, including Super Stereo Measurement for near-perfect accuracy.
GE F110 Outer Cowl
This video clip, digitally captured directly to the IPLEX SX II-R, shows an inspection of an F110 outer cowl.  The unique Olympus 120 degree far focus tip lets the inspector see a wide image and quickly spot damage.  Olympus manufactured lenses, in conjunction with the IPLEX SX II-R sophisticated electronics system, deliver bright images to the inspector.

P&W F100 13th HPC
This video clip, captured directly to the IPLEX SX II, shows inspection of an F100 13th stage HPC.  Note that the IPLEX’s generous depth of field provides a clearly focused image across the width of the blades.  The inspector has chosen the 120o far focus side viewing tip which allows him to see more of the blade in a single pass.

Range of working tools
Versatile tools are available to meet the majority of inspection requirements, such as retrieval of foreign objects and dropped items.
Interchangeable with 4.4mm and 6.0mm scopes
The IPLEX SX II lineup includes a 4.4mm scope (without a channel) that enables inspection of minute parts.  Interchangeability between 4.4mm, 6.0mm and the 6.2mm
scope makes this system very cost effective.
Rigid Sleeve
Useful as an auxiliary insertion tool and also making the scope easier to handle - simply fit and lock the sleeve onto the tip of the insertion tube.

Optimized for jet engine inspection
Olympus’s innovative ’Tapered Flex’ technology is well known for its unequalled insertion capability.  The IPLEX SX II-R’s ’Tough Tapered Flex’ tube has been designed to provide optimum flexibility in aircraft engine inspection, combined with excellent crush resistance.

  Rugged, durable design
The case that houses the main unit is made of a special shock-resistant resin compound.  In combination with a number of other shock-absorbing mechanisms, this provides optimal protection for the control unit, allowing easy transportation.
Compact, lightweight remote control
All operations, including scope articulation, observation, and recording, can be controlled using the IPLEX SX II-R’s compact, lightweight remote control.  Weighing a mere
160 grams, the control helps reduce operator fatigue, even during extended inspections.
Belt holder for hands-free operation
The remote control, complete with channel port, can be attached to a belt around the operator’s waist, leaving his hands totally free for other tasks when  operation of the remote control is not required.

Portable package design
An integrated all-in-one design offers superior portability and faster, more efficient set-up and take-down.  Removing the control unit from the case allows the
IPLEX SX II-R to be shoulder carried, enhancing mobility in confined spaces and elevated locations.

Super Stereo Measurement
Olympus’s innovative high-precision Super Stereo Measurement technology eliminates the need for direct frontal observation and makes possible measurement from any angle.  Six measurement modes are available to meet all measurement needs:
Distance
When both ends of a crack or similar defect are plotted, the straight line distance between those two points can be measured.
Depth Measures the depth/height from a hypothetical plane inside three designated positions to the required point.  Effective for measurement of corrosion, protrusion, and indentation.
Profile The cross-section of two designated points is represented with computer graphics.  An irregularity not easily understood on the monitor is now easier to comprehend.
Point-to-Line
Measures the distance between a hypothetical line between two designated positions and your required point.  Effective for calculating the dimensions of a chipped section in a blade.
Area The circumference of an abnormal section can be plotted, allowing its area to be measured.  This mode allows the dimensions of a burn to be quantified.
Lines
The total length of an abnormal section can be measured in accordance with its actual shape.  Useful for estimating the total length of a crack with complicated contours.

Observation Functions
• WiDER advanced Wide Dynamic Range - image processing algorithm allows images of dark and bright areas to observed in equal and balanced contrast.
• Automatic brightness control modes - optimal observation conditions are assured at all times with automatic brightness control modes.
• Smooth, stepless zoom - allows adjustment of magnification from 1X to 3X.
• Comparison capability - simultaneously displays live and recorded images to facilitate checking of age-related deterioration.

Recording/Management Functions
• Three types of recording - the recording card can store still image files (JPEG or TIFF), audio files (WAV), and moving image files (AVI or MJPEG).
• Easy data management - display, search, erase, move, or copy stored images.
PC Solutions
Remote operation from a PC is possible
with IPLEX Manager software - scope articulation, image recording, and data management can all be performed via a
USB cable.
Image Management
• Stereo measurement on a PC screen - download stereo measurement image data to a PC and work on it in the office.
• Database management of multiple images - even when a large number of images has been accumulated, they can be easily managed with a PC database.
• Report editing - a ’template creation’ function makes it easy to write and edit reports.
• Send data by e-mail - images and measurement data can be e-mailed to other departments and experts.
