The company has over 50 subsidiaries around the world and ’Olympus Industrial’ is the trading name for its Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) business, co-ordinated by one of these subsidiaries, KeyMed Ltd, in the UK.

KeyMed was formed in 1970 and now employs over 1200 people at its headquarters in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.  In addition to its responsibilities for the Olympus Industrial business, KeyMed distributes and services the Olympus range of medical endoscopic equipment in the UK, Ireland, the Middle East and Africa, as well as developing and manufacturing industrial and medical products that integrate with those from other Olympus manufacturing sites.

Olympus Surgical & Industrial America Incorporated, a subsidiary of KeyMed, is an important part of the global Olympus network, with specific responsibility for the sales and marketing of surgical and industrial endoscopy equipment for distribution in the the Americas and has Corporate Headquarters in Orangeburg, New York, where it has extensive service and training facilities, including a 100 seat lecture theatre, in addition to administrative offices and warehousing.  It also has responsibility for the sales and service of Olympus industrial microscopy systems in North America through its Micro-Imaging Division.

KeyMed markets, either directly or through its subsidiaries and distributors, the Olympus range of industrial RVI equipment to all parts of the world except Japan, China, Taiwan and Korea, which are the responsibility of Olympus in Japan.
